A dozen Hawaiian classics of long standing, using the typical Hawaiian instruments: slack key guitar, ‘ukulele, steel guitar, bass and the most familiar hula implements. As is true of a good share of the lastingly popular Hawaiian music, most of these songs were originally hula chants, that later were developed melodically. Names of the poets of these chants are lost in time, for the newest of the collection dates from the 1800's. The Maile Serenaders include legendary Hawaiian musicians: Eddie Kamae (‘ukulele), Joe Marshall (bass), Atta Isaacs (guitar) and David "Feet" Rogers (steel guitar).
